| Description: |  Join us on this grand adventure. Details are yet to be refined but we plan to be away for approximately a week. It is important that you register your intended attendance for the event on this site. If you are likely to go but are uncertain please let one of the Outings Committe know. You won't be excluded from coming if you decide at the last minute but you won't be included in any of the planning decisions. such as the size of the bus if we hire one, trying to get a group booking at a hotel etc. We currently have four options for travel to & from Broken Hill - 1/ Take the train which departs every Monday (in this case 10 August) from Central at about 6 or 7 am and arrives 13 hours later in Broken Hill. The return train is a week later on Tuesday, 18 August. You would have to hire a vehicle to use in Broken Hill, preferably one which you're allowed to use on unsealed roads. 2/ Fly. You'll have to check the flights. An option is to get the train to Broken Hill and fly home. 3/ Drive your own vehicle. Car pooling could suit some people. 4/ Heather's husband, Phil, has very generously offered to drive a bus if we all share the hiring fee. We are looking into this as we'd have to hire bus which we're allowed to drive on unsealed roads or hire such vehicles after arriving at Broken Hill. We are also investigating accommodation and an itinerary for our time in the area. We will keep you updated as things firm up. |
