Description: | Nilmini De Silva, GMAPS, EFIAP, SPSA and EPSA Documentary Photographer Nilmini De Silva is a national and international award winning photographer and an active member of the Hornsby Heights Camera Club where she serves on the committee. She discovered her passion for photography in 2010 when she spent a month volunteering in South Africa on a Conservation & Photography project during a gap year. Since then, Nil has launched a number of solo & collaborative photographic exhibitions including an exhibition at the HeadOn 2015 Photo Festival in conjunction with Hornsby Shire Council. She is also the author of Fate or Destiny, a collection of stories and photographs that aims to inspire people to live life with passion. She has obtained her Grand Master with APS and various other honours from both FIAP and PSA and completed an artist residency at Lake Tyers, in East Gippsland. Nil is inspired by the natural world around her and shoots a variety of genres with both her drone and her Canon R6. Her passions range from landscape, aerial, nature and portrait to photojournalism and street photography.
